Engineered Solutions of Georgia (ESOG) Installs (49) Helical Piles to Support a New Multi-Story, Multi-Family Structure in N.E. Metro Atlanta
Project Description:
- New Multi Story, Multi Family Development in NE Metro Atlanta.
- Large Drainage Structure (+/-20’ Below Grade) at Northwest corner of site adjacent to building footprint.
- Helical Piles selected so foundations would not bear on fill soils above the drainage structure.
- Notice the odd design of the New Construction Bracket (Load Transfer Device and Connection). The engineer of record had concerns about the fill soils possibly moving laterally and didn’t want those potential forces on the foundations. So, he designed the foundations to rest on the NCB with a rubber pad between the concrete and the plate.
