Project Description
The site for the two-story house and detached garage was located within the 10 ft. flood plain of the Fox River outside of Plano, IL The soils consisted of soft clays and silt to approximately 17 ft., and ground water was present at approximately 3 ft. below grade.
The deep foundation plans for the house called for (40) helical piles and (25) for the garage with an ultimate capacity requirement of (60) kips and working capacity of (30) kips. The average installation depth was 30 ft., and the pile caps were 8” x 8” new construction caps. All of the piles were installed in (3) days.
