About the Project

Tropical storm Isaias toppled trees and an existing retaining wall between three private homes.  Scobbo crews constructed a new retaining wall to support a two-story house.

The engineer specified 3.00” round shaft piles to be installed vertically to an average depth of 12 ft., and 1.75” RCS anchors installed as tiebacks to an average embedment depth of 20 ft.

The retaining wall was constructed with 3x10 oak shoring timbers, which were supplied by Premium Technical located in East Meadow, NY.

The entire emergency project including pile installation and temporary timber retaining was was successfully completed in 14 days.  The final retaining wall is currently in design phase from Newport Engineering.
