DFI’s 50th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations - a Very Successful Event

The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) wrapped up an absolutely fantastic event last week. The Annual Conference was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center located just outside of Nashville. More than 1300 people attended the event that spanned four days, and there were over (140) exhibitors, which consumed all of the available booth space in the exhibit hall.
The Helical Piles & Tiebacks Committee meeting was held on Monday afternoon prior to the conference opening, and the meeting was very well attended. Highlights of the meeting included:
- A report on the status of Dynamic Load Testing of helical piles project headed by Ben White, P.E. of GRL Engineers
A report by Chance Foundation Solutions, David Bruce, on the approval of the Helical Pile Design Training Course by the DFI technical review committee; publication to be available in the near future- A presentation by Howard Perko, Ph.D., P.E. on his new DFI position involving fund raising for various initiatives

ooths in the exhibit hall including:

- ECP
- PierTech Systems
- Ram Jack
Grouted displacement piles were featured along with helical pile-compatible utility grillages for power transmission applications.
