Project Overview

Scobbo Foundation Systems was contracted to install 30 new construction helical piles to support the new Con Edison Substation F located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard adjacent to the well known Steiner Studios.  Caissons, drilled piers and H piles were considered, but due to close proximity to existing structures, vibration concerns were a significant factor.  For this reason and for overall project cost concerns, helical piles were selected.
