ANALYSIS
In August of 2022, Coastal Foundation Solutions was hired to aid in developing a helical support foundation for a residential swimming pool on Fort Myers Beach. This area of Fort Myers Beach is well known for its dive bars and sun burned tourist who drank too much the night before.
SOLUTION
When the pool contractor was presented with very poor soil conditions and challenging access at this Fort Myers Beach Location, Coastal Foundation Solutions was contacted. The plans do not reflect the amount of infill required just to grant us access to the site. The project was done in multiple stages, with retaining wall piers drilled in place first, then the pool foundation piling installed at a later date.
RESULT
Once approved, our team mobilized and went to work installing thirty-five (35) helical piles to a depth of 37 feet. This yielded 25 tons of ultimate compression capacity, solidifying a solid foundation for the project’s upcoming construction efforts.
