Shore was contracted by McCauly Construction Company, Inc. to install Chance® (89) 1.5" square shaft helical piles to depths of 25 feet for the building raise/relocation of the Monmouth Beach Borough Hall in Monmouth Beach, NJ.
The two main challenges that needed to be overcome were working with the building overhead and excessive saturation of the ground during rain events. The schedules of installations were planned around bad weather and we were allotted a strict time limit to complete the project. Shore used a specialized drive head and low overhead equipment combination with an electronic torque indicator to install the piles under the restricted access conditions while enabling the engineer on site to monitor the piles during installation.
As with many projects, time is of the essence. It is imperative that work is done quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality. That is why choosing the right pile contractor is important. Shore was able to complete the installation of all (89) piles in four days.
