Project Purpose:
The Klang, Malaysia area is characterized by a deep (>15m to 30m) deposit of soft alluvial clay. This clay exhibits low shear strength and high compressibility. Helical piles are a suitable foundation solution for this type of soil profile. Due to the weak nature of the clay, achieving bearing capacity relies primarily on the end bearing of the pile with its enlarged helix plates rather than skin friction along the pile shaft.
