Danbro Installer Audubon Environmental Seeks Esteemed Estimator
by Pat Haffert
Danbro Vice President
There are not many women-owned businesses in the helical pier world. A notable exception is Audubon Environmental & Helical Piers. Woman-owned and operated since 1998, Audubon has been installing helical piers for more than twenty years. Carla Morris-Lombardo, Audubon’s President, has been a successful leader of an ever-growing, expanding enterprise that has been a major player in the Deep Foundation industry in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states. Building on its origins as a small family business founded on a wing and a prayer, Carla has created a collegial workplace with a strong team environment that always puts people first, fostering both individual achievement and organizational success. Audubon began its helical work in the Environmental Remediation business, but has expanded to include public sector, commercial, and industrial applications. At the forefront of the New York Build It Back program in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, they introduced the Grouted Helical Micropile to Staten Island and did millions of dollars’ worth of helical pier work during that time. Notable projects include: the Black Dirt Sewer line; JFK Airport for the New York Port Authority; and multiple utility/telecom catwalk projects for ESPN and CBS. Click here to view Audubon Projects
Located in a rural section of Burlington County, N.J., its close proximity to Philadelphia and New York City affords ample construction opportunities. Audubon has worked from New England to Virginia. However, most of their projects have been in New Jersey and the Philadelphia and New York metro areas. Audubon is a premier installer for Danbro Distributors, utilizing IDEAL Foundation Products, but has installed thousands of Chance helical piles and anchors as well. The company has achieved WOSB certification through the Small Business Administration, and they are a proud WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) with certifications throughout the Northeast. These designations are advantageous for Government, Authority, and other types of work where “set asides” and mandates are required on public projects.
Danbro Distributors has been Audubon’s helical supplier from the beginning. We have watched them grow from their humble origins into a major player in the alternative deep foundations business. I asked Carla about the new position they are looking to fill and why Audubon is a good place to work. “Ours is an exciting and welcoming place to work where we put our people first. We are looking to grow our business by aggressively bidding more projects,” she stated. “We are seeking someone with solid experience in the helical pier world to add to our team/family as an estimator. This individual will have the opportunity to influence our direction and grow our company. We are looking to expand Audubon to the next level,” Carla concluded.
