Coastal Foundation Solutions (CFS) recently completed an extensive helical pile installation project with multiple phases (both indoor and outdoor) for an undisclosed client in Tampa, FL.  The most recent phase included the installation of CHANCE SS200 square shaft lead sections with 10”-12”-14“ helix bearing plates followed by (2) extensions with (1) 14” helix bearing plate on each one. The second extension was then attached to RS4500.337 round shaft extensions using a SS200/RS4500 transition adapter.

The helical extensions were installed with an internal grout column approximately 4” in diameter that extended to an approximate depth of 35-feet (the internal grout column does not encompass the helical lead section). The piles were installed to an average approximate depth of 40-45 feet.  The CFS crew had little room for error with an extremely limited working area, low overhead clearance, and extreme temperatures.
