Project History
This is the last phase of a multi-phase 6+ year project to eliminate the flooding problem that has plagued the Southbridge section of Wilmington, Delaware for years. Breslin Contracting, Inc. installed the helical piles on the first two phases of the project, The South Wilmington Wetlands Park Project and the A-Street Sewer Separation Project for Diamond Materials. With the completion of this last phase, Breslin Contracting will have installed over (900) helical piles.

Last Phase of a 6+ Multi-Year Project
Installed (188) AB Chance SS5 RS2875.203 Transition piles to and embedment depth of 28’ to support pre-cast concrete manholes and catch basins with the following:
- SS5 8”/10”/12” leads
- SS5 to RS2875.203 casting transitions
- RS2875.203 extensions
- New construction pile caps
Installed (9) AB Chance SS175 RS2875.276 Transition piles to an embedment depth of 28’ to support a pre-cast concrete utility vault with the following:
- SS175 10”/12”/14” leads
- SS175 to RS2875.275 casting transitions
- RS2875.276 extensions
- New construction pile caps
Piles were installed with a Cat 305 excavator equipped with a 16k Digga Drive Head and AllTorque monitoring.
