Structural Systems Repair Group (SSRG) Installs (70) Helical Piles for KAO Waste Water Treatment Plant in Cincinnati

KAO USA, Inc. is building a new wastewater treatment plant for their facility in an industrial park in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pre-engineered metal building will be housed on approximately 4,400 sq. ft.
SSRG was contacted by A.T. Redder & Company to install (70) helical piles for the foundation of the building. SSRG crews faced minor difficulties in penetrating the piles through the fill layer that was comprised of brick fragments and concrete debris at a few column locations.
After discussions with the structural engineer, the direction of the batter piles was changed slightly to achieve the required pile embedment and capacity.
