 Helical Anchors, Inc. (HAI), www.helicalanchorsinc.com,  with manufacturing and corporate offices located in Minneapolis, MN, recently supplied (106) 4.50” O.D. (114.3mm) helical piles with 10”,12”,14” helix bearing plates for foundation support for a 30 ft. X 50 ft. one story addition and renovation to an existing building.  The piles were installed on the interior of the existing structure.  The project required axial compression service loads of 70 kips, axial tension loads of 2 kips and lateral load of 750 lbs. for each pile.  A safety factor of 2.0 was assumed to develop the piles ultimate capacity. All of the piles were installed to 16-20 ft. on a layer of bedrock
