Foundation Supportworks Releases the New Third Edition of Their Technical Manual

March, 2017

The Second Edition of the technical manual was published as a hard copy and also placed electronically on the company’s website just over two years ago.  With nearly 10,000 website views and downloads, it’s obvious that the manual was being referenced on a regular basis.  Nevertheless, Supportworks published the Third Edition in March 2017 as part of their continuing efforts to grow and support both their “Foundation” and “Concrete” divisions.  The completely redesigned Third Edition Supportworks Technical Manual includes all of the periodic updates made to the electronic website version as well as expanded product offerings for both residential and commercial markets.

Some of the chapters have been completely rewritten, while others were modified with new or expanded material.  One such example is the inclusion of the Helicast™ Grouted Helical Pile System in the helical pile chapter.  The Supportworks contractor network has had tremendous success with the Helicast™ system over the past year, completing projects across the United States and southeastern Canada where either higher capacity helical piles were required or a lower deflection criterion was specified.  The Helicast section of the technical manual includes an in-depth discussion on design methodology and an informative design example showing how the end-bearing and frictional components of the pile capacity are calculated.

Similar to the previous edition, the new manual is available as a bound, soft-cover book or as an interactive, electronic version on  On the website, you’ll also find product evaluation reports, model specifications, case studies, an extensive product drawing library and more.
